How are you dealing with the HUGE shifts happening within you and all around you? What is your heart feeling and yearning for? What is holding you back from moving forward in making significant changes?
This transformational time in our lives is what we could refer to as “Heart Quaking.” Our hearts are waking up to the new reality of living so they are shaking and quaking inside of us daily. Heart attacks are on the rise. Heart breaks are happening with each disaster, distressing news and unexpected deaths. Heart quaking is shaking us to our core, which is our soul purpose wanting a voice. And with each heart quake, we are reminded something in our lives needs to change.
In this digital age, we are pulled externally to screens and scrolling instead of stillness of meditation or prayer with focusing upon our hearts. Even as we begin to retire into necessary nighttime sleep, most of us (me included!) are scrolling or checking emails with our portable devices at our sides. Calculate the time spent on ALL your digital devices daily. I’ll wager a bet it’s more hours than you imagined. We don’t realize the number of hours until we take an actual count.
Recently, during a non-stop heart quaking time in my life, a wise mentor encouraged me to commit to 20 minutes of focused meditation daily; every day, seven days a week with no exceptions. It was difficult at first to make the effort EVERY day but I was determined to keep trying.
Benefits are now showing up like mushrooms popping up overnight. Presently, after my 20-minute heart mediation practice, I feel confident and courageous to make changes I know are needed in my life. Plus, other changes that are unknown to me are coming through with complete clarity. I have more “quiet” energy and feel waves of calm frequently.
Scientifically proven, this simple, heart-focused breathing stillness practice helps the heart to stop quaking and become in alignment with the mind. By giving your heart and mind 20 minutes of focused stillness each day, you help the heart to calm, the mind to stop spinning with amazing results that is called “coherency.”
By becoming still, we can slow down our neural circuity that revs up our inner engines by putting them into neutral gear. Our mental, emotional, spiritual and physical aspects of our being start to align and become coherent together to bring in greater resiliency and energy to our speeding systems. Heart quakes are the best traffic cops of our lives, giving us the signal to slow down our speeding hearts and spinning minds to give them calm, neutral doses of love.
Will you be willing and open to spare 20 minutes each day to soothe your heart quaking? Are you ready to experience the amazing benefits for a new, daily commitment to your heart? How does feeding your heart daily doses of love and attention make you feel? Begin to notice how making changes in your life becomes motivating instead of the old resistance holding you back. Smooth, coherent waves of positive feelings start to override the fearful ones.
And please, do your best not to consider your new practice a “challenge” to mark off your list of accomplishments. Practice reframing it as a necessary, daily function just as important as brushing your teeth, eating meals and taking a bath or showering. Your heart will thank you!
